Oral Surgery
Dr. Dennis has completed over 50 hours of advanced Oral Surgery training. She has extensive clinical experience performing oral surgery procedures. Her experience along with her compassionate and gentle approach helps our patients be able to be treated in most cases right here in our practice.
Simple, Surgical and Emergency Extractions
In the case that a tooth is so loose, infected and/or broken that it cannot be saved, we offer atraumatic extractions, same-day, whenever possible.
Extractions with Bone Preservation for Future Implants
Bone or Socket/Ridge Preservation (also called Bone Grafting) is an important treatment that assists the empty socket of the extracted tooth to heal faster and more predictably. The socket is filled in with bone material resembling natural human bone and is covered with a collagen membrane.
As a result, in most cases, the extraction site will be healed within 3-6 months. This creates the ideal foundation for a future dental implant to be placed to successfully replace the missing tooth. We use research-based high quality materials for this treatment to assure best possible outcomes.
Wisdom Teeth Extractions
We recommend extracting (removing) any wisdom teeth that are causing discomfort, are partially erupted and can not continue to grow in, or have grown in but are decayed or at risk of gum disease infection.
Dr. Dennis performs many wisdom teeth extractions here at Cherry Valley Dental. We require a 3D image ( CBCT scan) when removing lower jaw wisdom teeth to minimize surgical risks and ensure predictable outcomes for the surgery. Cherry Valley Dental has a state-of-the-art CBCT imaging unit on site, providing high quality scans generally at a lower cost than most specialist or hospital facilities.
We closely monitor your post-surgical healing progress with complimentary after-care visits.
We have Nitrous Oxide gas available for those that desire it. We do not currently offer general anesthesia for surgical procedures. We do refer some wisdom teeth extractions out to our trusted network of Oral Surgeons for those patients that prefer to be sedated or asleep.
